It is with heavy heart that we announce the passing of William (Bill) Burrows Patrick on May 14th, 2020 in Brampton, Ontario at the age of 79. Beloved husband of 59 years to Dorothy Grace (nee Shaw). Loving father to David and Lesley (Robert). Bill will be fondly remembered by his grandchildren Andrew, Rachel, and Victoria. Bill was born in the small town of Inchinnan, Renfrewshire, Scotland on July 16th 1940 to Robert and Mary Patrick. He immigrated to Canada in 1963. Bill began work at AVRO Aerospace Canada (later McDonnell Douglas/Boeing) in Malton, Ontario. His passion for the rights of his fellow workers eventually led Bill to be elected C.A.W. President, local 1967 Douglas, a position he held for 4 terms and more than 20 years. He received the distinguished C.A.W. Service Plaque to commemorate his work. His passion for serving led him to run for the New Democratic Party in the 1984 Federal election for the Mississauga North riding. His family and friends will remember Bill for his compassion for others, his singing voice and his great sense of humour. Due to current circumstances surrounding COVID-19, a celebration of life will be held at a future date. Memorial donations may be made to the Heart & Stroke Foundation or to the Ontario Lung Association.
