Stafford, Garnet (Korean War Veteran) - Peacefully, on Saturday July 10, 2021 at the Sunnybrook Veteran's Hospital, Toronto. For everyone who was in Garnet's life, who was present with Garnet while he was living, - even now we are not without Garnet. Though he is gone, he is present now, in the ways he has gotten inside of us. No one can describe the unusual quality he had, of seeing through everything right to the heart of another person. We are sure it is the same with the eleven brothers and sisters he grew up with in Longbranch in the 1930's (porridge for breakfast, porridge sandwiches for lunch, fried porridge for supper), his parents Mabel and Albert, his children (the late David Stafford, Mark (Sabine) Stafford and Andrea Stafford), grandchildren, (Shahn (Charlotte), Christopher, Sophia, Sean), long time close friend Charnie, people he worked with, businesses he created, projects he made, dreams he kept. We are sure all of us detected that connection he had with the spirit of us. Garnet's sensitivity and creativity were positively eerie and mysterious, and wonderful. To people who have been touched by Garnet, there is no need to explain. For people who don't know him, it is impossible. Garnet was a poet of life. Cremation has taken place. Memorial contributions to the Sunnybrook Veteran's Hospital would be greatly appreciated.
