My deepest condolences to Barb's family. I had the privilege to serve on the Board of Canadian Wheelchair Sports with Barb and have a lot of very fond memories that I will cherish forever. Barb was a very person and will surely be missed by all that had the privilege to have met her. God speed dear friend, my thoughts and prayers are with you all at this most difficult time.

My condolences to Barb's family and friends. It was truly an honour to have worked along side Barb at many competitions (provincial and international) during her time with OWSA/CWSA and mine with OCPSA/CCPSA. She was truly an advocate and a force, and largely responsible for the success of many athletes and the Paralympic movement in general. She was one of a kind!

I’m so sad to share that my Grandma, who we called Mama died on Monday Jan 11 from Covid. She was my mom’s mom and a mother figure to many. She was healthy and lived an incredible 82 years. I said goodbye to her through a hospital window. Covid has stolen so much from us, and it was devastating.
Mama was everything- she was so very talented and good at all the things. I was lucky enough to live with her for most of my childhood and she was there for all the special moments. I wouldn’t trade those moments for anything. I could talk about all her amazing accomplishments she did in her life, but you can read that through messages people have sent, and how she impacted their lives. Or from the articles that have been written and the countless awards she has received. If you needed anything she would give it to you, no questions asked.
She was one of my biggest cheerleaders, and was so proud of all of us. We were so proud of her and she was the best grandma! I remember her yelling and giving standing ovations at all my concerts, playing canasta at the kitchen table with our favourite snacks, and then our favourite wines. I always enjoyed listening to her stories while we washed & dried the dishes- she was so proper, but then her jokes were so twisted & hilarious! I will always envision her in her chair doing crossword puzzles or on the deck having a beer with her radio on listening to sports. Not very many people can say that their grandma went on Drop Zone with you at Wonderland. We have some many more memories together, I don’t need to list them all. I do want to share and celebrate her life and let her know she truly will be missed. We will miss your voice, hand squeezes and hugs the most. Heaven has gained another angel. I love you Mama! ox

My condolences To Barb's Family and friends.I got to know Barb at the Hillsview Active Living Centre in Georgetown. She was interested in all that we did and in spite of her poor eye sight she was able to see the humour.

We are so very sorry to hear Barb is gone. I first met her when I went to work for Dean at CWSA and she immediately became so very special to us. She even stood in for mom, whom I had lost many years before, when Dean and I married. My kids called her Grandma Barb. She was larger than life and will be truly missed ❤️❤️❤️
