Obituary of Elizabeth Anne Bradshaw

It is with great sadness that the family of Elizabeth Anne Bradshaw announce her passing at her home at the Bennett Health Care Centre, after a brief illness, on Sunday March 21st, 2021, in her 98th year. Elizabeth was predeceased by her first husband Stanley Earle Morris (1958), her second husband Frederick Charles Jones (1990) and her third husband John Hubert Bradshaw (2014). Elizabeth, loving mother of Peggy Gravis (Eddie), Sandra Stansfield, the late Mary Anne Cadeau, Barbara Jones, William Jones (Caryl), Donald Jones (Annette), the late Morris Jones, Patricia Eckensviller (Lloyd) and the late Russell Jones. Elizabeth was a proud grandmother to Sherri, Jodi, Daryl, Michael, Mark, Jennifer, Keeley, Brandon, Keltie, Thea, Kyle, Linda, Ryan, Cindy, Cheryl and Charlene and great grandmother to thirteen great grandchildren. Elizabeth was the eldest sister to Barbara Primm of Florida, the late Norman Bicknell and the late Donald Bicknell. Elizabeth was born and raised in Toronto. She and Earle met at high school and they were married before he served in World War II. Upon his return they started a family and moved to Streetsville in 1950. She was active at Trinity Anglican Church, Girl Guides and worked as the children's librarian at Streetsville Public Library in the late 1950's. She went back to school as her children got older, graduating Sheridan College in Social Services. She worked at Vanier Women's Prison and moved on to teen group homes. During this time Elizabeth and family took in foster children and later she started a daycare at Trinity Church demonstrating again her love for young children. In 1985 she and Fred retired to Alliston. After Fred's passing Elizabeth joined her daughter Mary Anne in Victoria, BC, where she met her third husband John. Upon returning to Ontario, Elizabeth enjoyed family gatherings and always had a quick joke and song to sing to brighten everyone's day. She will be missed. The family wishes to thank the staff at the Bennett Health Care Centre for their personal attention and care over the last four years. At the family's request, there will be no service at this time due to COVID-19 restrictions. There will be an interment at the Trinity Anglican Streetsville cemetery at a later date.
