As the majority of people were aware, Dorothy was a giving soul. She started her career as a teacher, setting that aside to raise her 4 children, through hard work and determination Dorothy went back to college to be a library technician. Dorothy was a keen supporter of many charities for over 30 years. The ones dearest to her heart was her many foster children throughout the world, so much so that she was able to get to know and love her foster children’s children. Dorothy was a woman of many talents; she was an artist whom gifted others with her inspiring greeting card making. She created many cards as well as afghans and baby clothes that family and friends have adored throughout the years and will be a gift for years to come. Dorothy used her photography skills to document both family occasions and for world travels with her husband Larry. Dorothy developed deep friendships and will be fondly remembered by many dear friends especially Elinor and Jim Clarke and Fred and Brenda Johnson. Honorable mention goes out to her dear friends and former coworkers “The library ladies who lunch” whom Dorothy spoke of fondly very often. Dorothy was born in St John’s Newfoundland to Hayward and Concilio Crane and grew up on Bell Island. She came to Georgetown with her family in July 1964 at the age of 17, but never forgot her Newfoundland roots.
