I am so sorry to hear the sad news. Julian always made me feel welcomed on the Hill as I was a newcomer and so far away from my home. I remember his music and performances that brought joviality to our tough work. My sincere condolences to all the family. Nancy Karetak-Lindell, Former MP for Nunavut.

Julian was a valued colleague who championed environmental issues, remembered the rural and small town issues that matter to communities. He worked tirelessly and always with a sense of good humour and fun. I have only good memories of our time working in common cause on Parliament Hill.

To the Reed Family….I say a simple “thank you” for sharing the kindness of your key family member. In my small political world; want an answer - ask Julian; don’t want an answer; you may get it anyway, but always with the knowledge it was intended to make you better. He lead by example…family first; your family a close second. Community just behind! He cared!! His presence may be absent, but his memory of what he did for others will be cherished by many. “Thanks Julian”!
Elaine & I extend our sympathy on the loss of a dedicated Norvalite!

Julian was such a kind and generous soul. My family and I are very saddened by the news of his passing. He was a good friend to my dad and I got to know him through that connection. I then had the great privilege to work for Julian on Parliament Hill. That opportunity, plus Julian's patient guidance, really set me up for a rewarding career. I can't thank him enough.

My condolences to Laurie and the entire Reed family at this time of loss. I cut my political teeth as a university student at Guelph when I'd drive over to Georgetown to knock on doors for Julian in his provincial campaigns and more recently as an Acton resident helping out his federal campaigns. He always had a smile and a neat story no matter the polls or the issue we may have been dealing with at the time. He will for sure be missed.

Norval has lost a valued community member. I have many memories of Julian, beginning with him singing in the Norval United Church choir. He recruited my brother and me to be
“ hosts” at a farm animal display at Shopper’s World when it first opened. As a teen Ranger, with Deanna as our leader, Julian had other hosting duties for me.
He was a man who wore many different hats ...but first and foremost, he was a family man and a proud Norvalite.
My condolences to the family.

Mel, Jeff & Family: For many years Halton had the privilege of being represented (Federally & Provincially) by a man well respected amongst his constituents. He held office with class & integrity for which we are grateful. Quite the footprint Julian has left behind. A man of many different talents too.....impressive. Our heartfelt condolences to the Reed family. Sincerely, Sandy Kerby-Moravac, Graeme Rush & Family.

To Julian's loving family...I offer heartfelt condolences on the passing of Julian on behalf of the Hughes family...they would all agree Julian was a wonderful pillar of society in Norval, Georgetown and beyond. My late husband, David and his eldest brother Peter (Braeside Farm, Norval) had many stories of their association with Julian and Deanna. My brother and sister in law, John and Laura (Springridge Farm, Milton) and I had the privilege of meeting Julian's brother Laurie and his delightful wife recently at Heritage Park and many fun stories and memories of days gone by were shared. I will watch out for Julian's celebration of life so that we can offer the same courtesy of support that was kindly extended to our family on the loss of loved ones.
Sincerely, Laurie MacNab, Milton

My husband Doug and I are saddened to hear of Julian's passing. We extend our heartfelt sympathy to you, his dear family.
I always enjoyed chatting with Julian about various topics. He possessed many talents and gifts and as Laurie Harris wrote, he was a well respected politician. Julian indeed served his constituents very well. He was a strong supporter and promoter of green energy long before it was popular. There is so much more I could say about Julian. A man who had such a big heart and genuine concern for all will not soon be forgotten.
May his soul rest in peace. May God bless his family and all who mourn the passing of Julian.
Gratefully,
Marie McGilvray

Art and I so loved and respected Julian Reed. As a young Mom and a political animal, I was so happy to work on Julian's many campaigns. (In fact Julian paid , out of his Pocket $5.00 an hour for my baby sitters so I could work on his campaign!)I think there was a lot of mutual respect there! He was such an honorable Member of Provincial Legislature as well as a responsible and well respected Federal Member of Parliament. He represented us so well in Halton! He will be so missed by his family and friends..A multi talented and unselfish gentleman, the last time I saw him was when Parkinson's was taking its toll on him, but he still had such a positive attitude and his charming smile. My heart goes out to Deanna and family, as well as his brother Laurie! I loved working on his campaigns, always such a positive and up lifting environment! Julian will be fondly remembered by the Harris Family. Last week over dinner Art and I were wondering how he was doing!

I only recently met Julian but in the short time I spent with him I could see how much love he had for his family and enjoyed his stories about his past. We had many laughs and I hope wherever you are that you can still have your ice cream :) You will definitely be missed.
