"The family of Bev Burns is saddened to announce her Peaceful passing in the early hours of Monday, May 9th at Riverside Glen, Guelph, in her 87th year. Predeceased by her parents, Malcolm and Velma Blue, sister Barbara Bossons and Brother in law Bill Bossons. Survived by her loving sister Pamela Nugent. Loved wife of the late Jamie (Jim) Burns. Loving mother to Susan McCauley, Sandra(Bill) Fuller and Carolyn(Dave) Taggart. Loving Nana to Joel, Ryan, Brad, Brittany, Josh, Shannon, Emily and Jenna. Great Nana to Shyla, Ryder and Ivy. Sister in law to Bob & Marion Burns, the late Claire, Lena Burns, Don and the late Ellen Burns. Bev was a long time resident of Georgetown. She loved her town, especially the downtown core and Heather's Bakery where she'd frequently meet up with family and friends. She was an active volunteer for many charities. She loved golf, tennis and endless walks. Bev and Jamie loved to travel and frequented many different countries during their 35 years together. Bev was an amazing cook and known for her wonderful pie baking skills. Family was the mainstay of Bev's life and she loved spending time with her children and grandchildren. Bev's family would like to thank her care team at Riverside Glen for their love and compassion during the last two years "what we once enjoyed and deeply loved we can never lose, for all that we love deeply becomes a part of us"
"Friends will be received at the Jones Funeral Home on Friday May 27, from 2-4 for a visitation in the Trafalgar Room. In lieu of flowers donations to the Alzheimer Society would be appreciated.
