I guess I think of Mitch about every other time I pick up a hockey stick -- and it's been about 30 years (and many coaches) since he coached our team. He was a very passionate, dedicated coach, and I learned a lot from him. I think what made him stand out is that he made an effort to get to know each kid personally, even the quiet ones.
I'll continue to appreciate his efforts as I fire pucks at my girls on some lake somewhere...
My sincere condolences to Dave, Sara, Derek, and Daniela.

Daniela, Sara and family,
My deepest condolences to losing a husband, father, grandfather, and friend to many. It's been several years since I last saw you, but I remember having great chats with Mitch and Daniela. Interesting that on the day Mitch passed I was out shopping with a co-worker, telling her about the Lajeunesses and Little Debbies.. Memories will live on in our hearts.

I shared the office with Mitch for the past 6 months and enjoyed our conversations about baseball
and hockey in the 1960's and his junior career in North Bay ; but the lasting memory i have of Mitch
is how proud he was of his children and grandchildren as he talked about there success to me all the time.
I cherish my limited time with Mitch as he was a devoted family man.Gone to soon my "Northern " friend

I was lucky to meet Mitch last year. He was our sales rep here in North Bay. We shared a lot of French Canadian jokes and laughs. After chatting, we realized that he actually knew who my dad was through baseball in their younger years. What a small world! I heard a lot about his lovely wife, each of his kids and all his grand kids. One thing that was clear, He ADORED you all so so much. He was proud of his family. It was a beautiful thing to see.
Mitch was so vibrant. He enjoyed the work he did and meeting new people was a breeze to him. He always complimented his co-workers and boss. He had the utmost respect for them all. He was a team player. Mitch was so energetic, loving, fun, smiley and always looked his best. My deepest condolences to you all. He will be greatly missed. I will always remember the last text he sent me saying that ''he was very impressed with my husband David'' when they hung out at the Castle show 2 weeks ago.
I was his first merchant he met through Castle and I'll always remember him calling me his favorite. Ill always remember his favorite saying for business to me was ''Take easy, make nice'' And how he would always ask how my kids were.
"Blessed are those who mourn, for they shall be comforted." The Good News: God will never abandon us during our times of grief. Instead, he will always provide us with love and hope. I hope that you feel comforted with the presence of your family and friends. God bless you all through these times.

Sincerest condolences to Mitch’s family from ours.
He was a much loved and respected coach and mentor to a generation of young Acton boys, both in hockey and baseball. We are very fortunate and grateful to have had Mitch be a big part of our son’s life, and truly appreciate the time and energy he gave to these boys over many years.

Mitch was a great man and also a hockey coach to my son and many others. The best memories I have had with my family was playing hockey with Mitch as the coach and I am sure the whole hockey family feels the same. Whether it was playing the game, weekends in hotels or just get togethers we always had a blast. He was not only a coach but a mentor and friend, these memories will last forever.
I would like to thank Daniela and her family for the scarifies of giving him the joy of coaching, as I know he loved every minute of it.
Thinking of you Daniela, Derek, David, Sara and families and sending lots of love and hugs from Kevin, Wendy, Shawn and Ryan Weatherall.
